About this spot
An amphitheater of stone-and-mud rice terraces carved by Ifugao farmers over centuries, part of the UNESCO-listed Rice Terraces of the Philippine Cordilleras. Batad is reachable only on foot from the Saddle, which keeps it quiet and rural. Stay overnight in a homestay, wake to mist over the terraces, then hike down into the village and up to viewpoints like the Awa view deck. Colors shift through the year from green to gold to mirror-like flooded fields.
