Olango Island Wildlife Sanctuary

About

A wild, watery world just a short boat ride from Mactan! On the far side of Olango Island, a stone footpath runs straight out over clear, shallow flats lined with mangroves, and the sky fills with herons, egrets and tens of thousands of migratory shorebirds. Rent a bike at the port, pedal through quiet island villages, walk out across the water for the views, and stay for a fiery sunset over the mangroves. Bring binoculars from November to February, the peak of the migration!
