About this spot

Malapascua is famous worldwide as one of the only places where you can reliably see thresher sharks, with their long whip-like tails, at a cleaning station around 25 meters deep. Dive boats leave before dawn, and early dives have high encounter rates. You'll need at least an Open Water certification (Advanced is recommended for the depth), and the island's dive shops offer courses if you're not certified.
