Bakhawan Eco-Park
About
A whole forest of mangroves planted by hand, right outside Kalibo! Bakhawan Eco-Park started in 1990 on a muddy shoreline and has grown into a 220-hectare mangrove forest run by the community group KASAMA. Walk the 1.3-kilometer boardwalk deep under the canopy until it opens onto the beach, paddle a kayak or ride a bamboo raft through the channels, and plant a mangrove of your own. Brave foodies can ask the keepers for fresh tamilok! It's a perfect stop before or after your Boracay flight.
Rain likely until 7 AM. Head out after.
