Bagasbas Beach

About

Bagasbas is the surfing capital of Bicol, and the vibe is pure beach town! The long dark-sand beach faces the open Pacific, so the waves roll in almost all year, and you will see surfers from sunrise to sunset. Take a beginner lesson with a local instructor, watch the pros, or just walk the shore and catch the golden sunrise. Behind it runs the long coastal boulevard, great for a morning jog or an easy bike ride, with casual restaurants and surf shops nearby. Tip: go early for glassy waves and calmer water, and swim only near the lifeguards and flagged areas because the currents here are strong.
