About this spot

A chance to snorkel alongside the gentle butanding, the world's largest fish, in their natural habitat. Register at the Visitor Center in Dancalan, watch the briefing, then head out with a trained Butanding Interaction Officer who spots the sharks and leads you into the water under strict no-touch rules. Sightings are seasonal and not guaranteed, and numbers have varied in recent years, so keep expectations flexible.
