Black Island (Malajon Island)

About

Black limestone cliffs, white sand and a cave with a pool inside! Black Island, called Malajon by locals, sits off the northwestern coast of Busuanga in northern Palawan. Step into the main cave to find a soaring, cathedral-like chamber with stalactites and a clear freshwater pool. Outside, snorkel the coral gardens and look for the small shipwreck just off the beach. It is far from Coron town, so most people visit on a Calauit Safari tour with a Black Island side trip, or ride to Salvacion and hire a bangka for the short crossing. Pack snacks and water shoes!

What to do here

  • Swim in the freshwater pool inside the cave
