Patar Beach
About
Patar is Bolinao's long, golden-sand beach and the base for most Pangasinan beach trips. The sand is soft, the water is usually calm, and the sunsets over the West Philippine Sea are the main event. Rent a cottage, swim, then walk to the rock formations at the far end of the beach for photos. Nearby you can stack your itinerary with Enchanted Cave, Cape Bolinao Lighthouse and Bolinao Falls, all a short tricycle ride away. Weekdays are quiet, with mostly fishermen on the shore, while weekends fill up. Tip from repeat visitors: withdraw cash in town first, because Bolinao has very few ATMs and phone signal around Patar is weak.
