About this spot

A Spanish fortress first built in 1635, now an open-air Marian shrine to Our Lady of the Pillar on its outer wall, where devotees of all faiths light candles. Inside, a branch of the National Museum displays marine life and regional ethnographic exhibits. It's the historic heart of the 'City of Flowers' and steps from Paseo del Mar for sunset.
