The Ruins
About
The skeleton of a grand Italianate mansion built in the early 1900s by sugar baron Don Mariano Ledesma Lacson in memory of his wife, Maria Braga, which is why some call it the 'Taj Mahal of Negros'. It was burned in World War II to keep Japanese forces from using it, leaving elegant columns and walls standing amid gardens. Come late afternoon, when the light glows through the structure and stays until it's lit at night.
