Sogod Bay Diving and Whale Sharks (Padre Burgos)
About
Underwater dream trip! Padre Burgos is the diving town of Sogod Bay, which the Department of Tourism says hosts over 20 marine protected areas and about 350 coral species. Dive the famed Napantao site and the walls around Limasawa Island, or go on a night dive to hunt for macro life like nudibranchs, frogfish, pipefish and pygmy seahorses. From about November to May, wild whale sharks visit the bay. Encounters are snorkel-only, the sharks are never fed, and sightings are never guaranteed, so treat one as a bonus. Non-divers can join snorkel trips too. Book with a Padre Burgos dive resort, follow the no-touch rules, and enjoy the quiet, uncrowded reefs.
