About this spot
The legendary home of the diwata Maria Makiling, this dormant volcano is a forest reserve managed by UP Los Baños. The UPLB trail climbs through rich rainforest to the bubbling Mud Spring and onward to Peak 2, a long, leech-prone but rewarding day hike. Its lush biodiversity makes it a favorite for students, birders and hikers. Register with the Makiling Center for Mountain Ecosystems.
