Jomalig Island and Salibungot Beach

About

Jomalig is the golden island of Quezon, and Salibungot Beach is why people make the long trip! Its deep amber sand glows orange in the late afternoon, framed by a line of shady agoho trees and the open Pacific. Ride a habal-habal around the island to Little Boracay for calm swimming, the cliffs of Lingayen Cove, nicknamed Little Batanes, and the lone bent tree at Kanaway Beach. Island-hop to sandbars and rocky islets, then feast on a fresh seafood paluto dinner at your resort. This is a real adventure: an overnight bus to Real and a five-hour boat ride. Bring small bills, a power bank and a dry bag, and book your resort first.

FAQ

How long does it take to reach Jomalig?

Plan on about 9-11 hours each way: an overnight bus to Real, Quezon, then a 5-6 hour boat ride from Ungos Port.

Can I swim at Salibungot Beach?

Swim carefully near the shore only. It faces the open Pacific, so Little Boracay is the calmer swimming spot.

Can I camp anywhere?

No. A local ordinance bans camping outside accredited resorts, so book a resort before you go.

Is there electricity and an ATM?

Power usually runs only in the evening, and there are no reliable ATMs, so bring power banks and enough cash.
