About this spot

The coral-stone walls and bell tower of the old Catarman church, destroyed by the same 1871 eruption that sank the cemetery nearby. Moss and ferns now cover the roofless shell, and a small chapel still operates inside the ruins. It's an atmospheric, quiet stop that tells the story of Camiguin's volcanic past. Visit together with the Sunken Cemetery.
